If you’re like me you might suck at celebrating. Why is it so hard to sometimes jump up and down in excitement? To shout out a whoop of joy? To dance a jig on the table in celebration? This idea keeps bouncing around in my head. I can’t drop it. I think maybe we all suck at celebrating. You may be the exception, if so please help the rest of us out. What are the things that get in the way? Society teaches you can only celebrate the big, massive, ultra impressive victories. Yeah but what about all the small victories I was also kinda pumped about?
Celebrate the small victories. Just freaking do it. Stop caring about what people think. Drop the shame people are inevitably going to dish out at you. Don’t let fear take you out. There are days where the simple act of getting out of bed is a BIG victory. You know exactly what I’m talking about. On those days I think it’s okay to go get a celebratory Chick-Fil-A breakfast. Stop the comparison. Somebody else’s victory doesn’t need to inform what you celebrate in your life. Stop seeing yourself as less than. Maybe if you’re feeling really ambitious try celebrating something that had nothing to do with your effort or achievement. HOLY COW these wild tulips are beautiful *begin celebratory jig*. Rock n’ Roll. Comments are closed.
